The name ‘Wheal Sea’ is inspired by the artist’s love of the north Cornish coastline with its rich mining history. Every piece is made by the local fused glass artist, Dave Bourne, who lives in the village of St Agnes. All of his fused glass is designed and created in his small studio using his own specialist glass kiln.

Dave finds that glass is a fascinating medium to work with as it interacts with light in such an interesting manner, and is available in such an exciting spectrum of colours. This gives Dave extensive possibilities for new designs inspired by his local surroundings.
